Bollon in Flood - Again!

 Rural Childrens Centre

For the second time in three years, Bollon has been inundated with flood water as the Wallam Creek burst its banks. Fortunately, the flood waters did not reach the record height of the March 2010 flood. However, the school grounds were once again inundated with low-lying storage areas and the tuckshop flooded. The grounds of the school became a sea of brown water.

The school had to be closed for three days. Students were happy to continue doing their school work at home, which was faxed and emailed to them by teachers. When the water subsided, a super crew of willing helpers cleaned the school so that students could return to school the very next day. Everyone agreed that the flood this year was nothing in comparison to the flood of 2010. However, everyone also agreed that they didn't want to experience another flood in Bollon for a very long time.
